Denis O'Donovan

Denis O'Donovan ( Irish Donnchadh Ó Donnabháin , born July 23, 1955 ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and since 2007 Senator in the Seanad Éireann .

O'Donovan studied at University College Cork , where he graduated in 1975.

In 1989 he was nominated Senator in the 19th Seanad Éireann by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern . In 1997 he was elected to the 21st Seanad Éireann, to which he belonged until 2002, when he was elected to the 29th Dáil Éireann . O'Donovan had run for the Fianna Fáil, as in the three previous elections, in the constituency of Cork South-West . In the next elections in 2007 he could not defend his mandate there, instead he was re-elected to the Seanad Éireann. In 2011 he appeared, now for the seventh time, in the constituency of Cork South-West , but was unsuccessful, as in the last election.
