Denis Szabo

Denis Szabo (born June 4, 1929 in Budapest ; † October 13, 2018 in Magog ) was a Canadian criminologist of Hungarian origin.

Szabo studied in Belgium and France and taught criminology at the University of Montreal since 1958, as the first professor of this subject in Canada . In 1969 he founded an international research center for comparative criminology ( Center international de criminologie comparée ). He was President of the International Society for Criminology and an advisor to the UN and the Council of Europe .
