Deniz Manuel Bozkurt (born July 27, 1993 in Plantation , United States ) is a Puerto Rican soccer player .
Club career
Deniz Bozkurt played for the Florida Atlantic Owls at Florida Atlantic University from 2011 to 2014 . He then played for Floridians FC in the USL Premier Development League from 2014 to 2015 . In January 2015, the midfielder briefly took part in a training camp and a test match for the VfL Wolfsburg reserve team in Belek . In July 2015 he was tested in the Rot Weiss Ahlen training camp at another German club and was then permanently committed. In December 2015, Bozkurt was diagnosed with a chipped pelvis. Also due to this serious injury, he did not play for Ahlen until the end of the season. On June 1, 2016, the regional division announced the departure of the midfielder.
National team
In 2013 Deniz Bozkurt was part of the U-20 national team of Puerto Rico at the CONCACAF U-20 championship , but retired with his team in the group stage. On March 30, 2015, he made his debut in the 3-0 defeat in the friendly against Canada for the Puerto Rican national team . During qualifying for the 2018 World Cup , he scored the winning goal and his first goal for the national team in the 1-0 win over Grenada on June 12, 2015.
