The monument to Johann Turmayr , called Aventinus , in Abensberg , a town in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim , was erected in 1861. The monument on Aventinusplatz is a protected architectural monument .

The memorial to the historian and court historiographer Johann Turmayr , who was born in Abensberg on July 4th, 1477, is a stone statue of the scholar in Renaissance costume. It was created by Maximilian Puille , a student of Ludwig Schwanthaler .
