Monument to Veit Demmler
The memorial for Veit Demmler is the work of the sculptor Jörg Miller in Stuttgart-Vaihingen .
Veit Demmler was the son of the cloth manufacturer Christoph Demmler from Calw . He died on June 10, 1621 at the age of 13 near Stuttgart . His father had a memorial erected in 1622 as a reminder. Stylistically it can be assigned to the turn from the Renaissance to the Baroque . The approximately 4.5 m high monument stands on a base with a square floor plan. Above it is a section of sandstone with inscriptions; Above it, in turn, a segment that tapers slightly upwards, on whose four sides reliefs in the shape of a face can be seen. The monument is crowned by a small obelisk . In 1910, the monument was renovated by the sculptor A. Schenk and building officer Bareiß.
Location
Today the monument stands immediately south of Magstadter Strasse opposite the Neuer See .
