Main street in Gindorf

The Hauptstrasse monument zone in Gindorf , a municipality in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate , includes the buildings Hauptstrasse 13 to 21 and Zum Unterdorf 2 and 4.

The middle section of the main road, designated as a monument zone , shows three different ways of accessing farms on its east side, in a consistently good state of preservation : In the south two eaves side houses from the 19th century with the courtyard between the house and the street, to the north of this two transverse houses from the 18th century with their courtyard is downhill applied, the so standing with her back to the main road, and to the north a gable continuous row of three houses of the middle 19th century, which was created by the division of an originally larger plot (main road 13-17, the no. 13 was only Separated in 1864).

Above all, the two rows on the eaves form a situation typical of Gindorf, which arises from the stringing together of several farmsteads without jumps to escape. The courtyard areas to the buildings at Hauptstrasse 13 to 17 still have the old paving.
