Dennis Mackert (born April 3, 1977 in Mannheim ) is a German football player and coach .

Mackert began playing football at FV Brühl, in 1989 he moved to the youth department of SV Waldhof Mannheim . After going through the youth departments, he played in the reserve of SV Waldhof until 1996. In 1996 Mackert made his debut in the Second Bundesliga. After relegation to the regional league in 1997, Mackert was the only player besides Atilla Birlik who did not leave the club. However, Mackert moved to Hertha BSC in January 1999 , but here he was only used in the second team.

Mackert returned to the Rhine-Neckar region in 2001 and played first at SV Laudenbach and then again at SV Waldhof Mannheim . In two league years he wore the Waldhof jersey 31 times. In 2005 Mackert moved to the city rival VfR Mannheim .

Trainer

In 2007 Mackert became a player- coach at SG Heidelberg-Kirchheim . From there he went to VfR Mannheim again for half a year in 2008 . From 2009 to 2010 Mackert worked again for his home club FV Brühl. He worked there as a player-coach, he was supported by his brother Roman, who worked as an assistant coach. In 2011 Mackert became a coach at TSV Amicitia Viernheim .

Mackert studied to become a teacher at the Heidelberg University of Education. Then he headed a day care center in Oftersheim.
