The custodian of Hrdlořezy I (also hoard I of Hrdlořezy ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture from Hrdlořezy , in Středočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the Regional Museum in Mladá Boleslav .

Find history

The depot was discovered in 1954 northeast of Hrdlořezy during an archaeological excavation on the prehistoric settlement of Předliška. The settlement lies on a spur of the terrain . The depot was discovered in a small pit at a depth of 0.2 m.

In 1967, a second deposit ( Depot II ) was discovered on the Předliška settlement . In addition, three individual finds of bronze objects from the Aunjetitz culture (a ridge ax and two dagger blades) are known from here . Another depot ( Depot III ), the exact location of which is unknown, dates from the late Bronze Age .

composition

The depot consisted of three spiral bracelets, 13 loop-headed pins, two necklaces with 836 barrel-shaped bronze beads ( Václav Moucha only mentions 824) and an amber bead , four arm rings, two awls and a ceramic shard. The items had been laid down in layers and bundles. The arm spirals were on the outside. The edge of a vessel leaned against this. Inside the spirals was a bundle of eleven needles. The arm rings and the two pearl necklaces followed under the spirals. Remnants of cords are said to have been left in the openings in the pearls. Inside the rings were two bronze awls with remains of wooden handles, which fell apart during the excavation. Finally, two more, larger needles lay diagonally under the awl. The ceramic shard and the amber pearl are lost today.
