Altglandorf (until the beginning of the 20th century Glandorf ) is a village in the municipality of Sankt Veit an der Glan in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia . The village has 95 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies on the territory of the cadastral municipality of Sankt Donat .

location

The village is located in the south of the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan, southeast of the district capital Sankt Veit an der Glan, between Glandorf and Blintendorf , close to the Glan and the Rudolfsbahn . Most of the village is to the right of the Glan, from the L71 Zollfeldstraße in the north, where there are some residential buildings, through an industrial park further south to the old village center in the south. A small part of the village is to the north to the left of the Glan, in the area of ​​the buildings of the Kandussi company.

history

Located in the tax municipality of Sankt Donat, the place belonged to the Osterwitz tax district in the first half of the 19th century and was then called Glandorf . When the local congregations were formed in the course of the reforms after the revolution of 1848/49, what was then Glandorf came to the community of St. Georgen am Längsee , and in 1895 to the then newly founded community of St. Donat .

At the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, a new settlement was built north of the place, which was initially run as the village of Neuglandorf . To distinguish from that Neuglandorf until then when it was Glandorf run place in Altglandorf renamed. In 1958 Altglandorf (like Neuglandorf) came to the municipality of Sankt Veit an der Glan. The original Neuglandorf lost its status as a separate village after joining the municipality of St. Veit an der Glan, even if the name Glandorf continues to be used informally . In contrast, Altglandorf remained a separate village within the municipality of St. Veit an der Glan.
