Unterbergen is a village in the municipality of Sankt Veit an der Glan in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia . The village has 92 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies on the territory of the Hörzendorf cadastral community .

location

The village is located southwest of the district capital Sankt Veit an der Glan . The town center is located below the Muraunberg , at the transition area from the Glantal to the Glantaler Bergland .

In addition, as early as the middle of the 20th century , a small settlement ( Reidenwirtsiedlung ) was built around an old inn, which was lonely outside the village near the Glan . A sports facility, the Jacques Lemans Arena , was laid out between this settlement and the town center in the 2000s .

history

Located in the area of ​​the Hörzendorf tax municipality, the place belonged to the Karlsberg tax district in the first half of the 19th century . When the local congregations were formed in the course of the reforms after the 1848/49 revolution, Unterbergen came to the Hörzendorf community (which was initially run under the name of Karlsberg community ). In 1972 it fell to the municipality of Sankt Veit an der Glan.
