Želenice depot

The Želenice depot (also known as the Želenice hoard ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Želenice in Ústecký kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The deposit is now in the Bílina Museum .

Find history

The depot was discovered in 1925 south of Želenice in the location "Želenický vrch". The exact circumstances of the find are unknown. The site is in a valley between two steep basalt cones , through which a stream once flowed, which flowed north into the Bílina . Another depository was found a few hundred meters to the west near České Zlatníky , but it dates back to the Middle Bronze Age.
