Březí depot (Trhové Sviny)

The Březí depot (also hoard find from Březí ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Březí , a district of Trhové Sviny in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates to between 1800 and 1600 BC. The preserved items from the depot are now in the National Museum in Prague .

Find history

The depot was discovered in 1887 while breaking stones in a crevice. The exact location is unknown.

composition

The depot originally consisted of 35 bronze bars , of which only 30 are preserved today. Most of the bars are recently damaged. The bars mostly have an oval cross-section, a wide middle section and hollowed ends. They are between 280 mm and 290 mm long and weigh around 90 g.
