Rousovice depot
The Rousovice Depot (also known as the Rousovice hoard ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Rousovice , a district of Mělník in Středočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates to between 1800 and 1600 BC. Today the depot is in the Mělník Museum .
Find history
The depot was discovered in 1923 during track construction work on the grounds of the sugar factory. The water from a gutter had washed the earth around a track here and several bronze objects were found by chance in the resulting pit . The site is on the lower part of a slope on the east bank of the Elbe .
composition
The depot originally consisted of at least 12-15 sales axes . Only one of these was initially canceled. Others were later found in a barrel of scrap metal. A total of six axes are still preserved today, five of which are rough casts.
