The Veselíčko Depot (also known as the Veselíčko hoard ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Veselíčko u Milevska in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates to between 1800 and 1600 BC. Today the depot is divided between the Museum of Milevsko and the National Museum in Prague .

Find history

The depot was discovered in 1930 southeast of Veselíčko opposite the cemetery when the road to Bilina was widened . The somewhat older Milevsko-Umgebung depot was found nearby in 1930 or 1931 .

composition

The depot was placed in a ceramic vessel, of which only a few fragments have survived today. There were 24 bronze bars in the jar . Six copies are completely preserved, the others are broken (mostly modern). The ends of the bars are usually rounded and spoon-shaped in one piece. The complete specimens are between 286 mm and 310 mm in length and weigh between 93 g and 111 g. In Milevsko there are 20 bars and the ceramic shards, in Prague the remaining four bars.
