Vitín depot

The Vitín Depot (also known as the Vitín hoard ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Vitín in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the South Bohemian Museum in Budweis .

Find history

The depot was discovered in September 1899 in a quarry west-southwest of Vitín.

composition

The depot consists of nine bronze eyelet neck rings or ring bars . The rings have tapered and hook-shaped ends. They have irregular grooves on the inside. Some specimens are asymmetrically shaped and less thick in the middle than at the ends. The length of the rings is between 144 mm and 159 mm, the width between 122 mm and 130 mm. The weight is between 122 g and 215 g.
