The official debut Into Oblivion was released in 2015 on the Spanish death metal and death doom label Memento Mori . Into Oblivion was rarely discussed. The existing reviews were meanwhile positive. A year after the debut, Temple of the Lost Wisdom was the second studio album. For the song A Mournful Prophecy one was adventitious music video produced. Temple of the Lost Wisdom received more international attention than the debut and was also well received.

style

Deprive's music is described as a successful Death-Doom with noticeable influences from Morbid Angel , early My Dying Bride , Death , Asphyx and Autopsy . Meanwhile, the lyrics are permeated with chaos and blasphemy , which is why the music is sometimes attributed to Black Doom . The description of Into Oblivion and Temple of the Lost Wisdom varies . Both albums are said to be close to Death Metal of the early 1990s, but the second studio album is described as more complex and dynamic.

The guitar playing is characterized by “brutal riffiness , the tempos of which are varied again and again”. The singing would also be "multi-layered [varied], from the gloomy growling to the creaky vocal color of a again unclear singing NICK HOLMES ". A "heavy" electric bass and a "distinctive" drumming, which allowed the tempo to change between harsh Death Metal and slow Death Doom, complete the musical concept.
