August Ritt (born August 26, 1852 in Budweis , Bohemia , † March 30, 1934 in Vienna ), 1911 to 1919 Ritter von Jaufen , was an Austrian construction technician, administrative officer and minister for public works .

Life

Ritt, the son of a landowner in Bohemia, studied at the technical colleges in Vienna and Munich and entered the civil service in 1876 at the Lieutenancy of the Coastal Country . In 1882 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior, in 1887 as the kk senior building officer and head of the building department in the Lieutenancy for Tyrol and Vorarlberg . There he promoted water protection structures , was responsible for the Adige and Rhine regulation as well as the construction of the Great Dolomite Road . In 1898 he was given the title of Hofrat.

From November 10, 1909 to January 9, 1911, Ritt was Austrian Minister for Public Works in the Bienerth government . Then he became a privy councilor retired and was awarded the title Knight of Jaufen - after Jaufenpass he was responsible for the development of well - ennobled .
