Josef Kaněra

Josef Kaněra von Tynbrugg (born March 6, 1854 in Ober Radechau , Kingdom of Bohemia , † October 1, 1914 in Vienna ), knight of Tynbrugg since 1907 , was a Bohemian - Austrian administrative officer and minister of education.

Life

Kaněra studied law at the University of Prague , entered the civil service in the Bohemian Lieutenancy in 1877 and moved to the Ministry of Culture and Education in 1880. In 1897 he became Ministerialrat and in 1901 Section Head. 1907 took place ennoblement knighted by Tynbrugg.

From November 15, 1908 to February 10, 1909 Kaněra was Austrian Minister for Culture and Education in the Bienerth Ministry of Officials . Like his colleagues, he had been appointed as the senior section head. After his tenure he headed the section for the middle school system in the ministry. In the middle school reform he carried out, he modernized school hygiene and physical education. He was also responsible for the legal regulation of apprenticeship training. The elementary school and teacher education system, the cult buildings, the foundation system as well as the commission and mercy matters were subordinate to its section. In 1910 he was appointed to the Privy Council , and in 1911 he retired.

Kaněra and his wife Anna had a son and a daughter. His grave is at the Vienna Central Cemetery , Group 71, B 103.
