Bergsteiger is a German-language magazine on the subject of mountain sports . It has been published by Bruckmann Verlag since 1930 - interrupted only by a three-year war-related compulsory break - and is therefore the oldest commercial mountain magazine in the world (title until 1982: Der Bergsteiger ). The editor-in-chief is Michael Ruhland.

The topics range from mountain hiking to via ferrata and climbing to ski and snowshoe tours and mountain biking . It reports on mountain sports in Germany , Austria , Switzerland and the world.
editorial staff
The editorial office is in Munich. Michael Ruhland has been the editor-in-chief since April 1, 2012. He succeeds Andreas Kubin , who had been Bergsteiger's editor-in-chief since 1989.
