The Bund (Musical)

The Bund (original title Ha Brit ) is a musical that tells the story of the people of Israel from Abraham through Moses , Ruth , the Babylonian exile , the Roman occupation and the Jewish exile to the founding of the modern state of Israel .

The Bund was composed by the international artist couple Robert and Elisabeth Muren from Jerusalem.

At the invitation of the City of Jerusalem , Der Bund was performed for the first time at the Jerusalem Cultural Festival in 2002.

Israel's well-known songwriter, singer and showmaster Ehud Manor , who has written many award-winning song texts and translated musicals such as Cabaret , Les Misérables and Hair , was won over to translate the musical into Hebrew in 2002.

In March 2003 the musical was performed for the first time in Hebrew in various locations in Israel under the auspices of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) : The Hebrew premiere took place on March 16, 2003 in Kfar Saba , on March 24 In 2003 "Ha Brit" (Hebrew for The Bund ) was shown at the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel-Aviv , followed by another performance in Nazareth on March 29, 2003.

In 2004, the Israeli Ministry of Education rated Der Bund as "worth seeing" for school classes.

In July 2006, Der Bund was brought to Europe for the first time by almost 30 international actors and singers. The first appointment in Germany was on July 12, 2006 in the church at Südstern in Berlin . Further performances took place u. a. instead of in Hanover, Nuremberg, Stuttgart and Altensteig.
