The musical Der Drachenstein was premiered on December 6, 2002 in the Culture and Congress Center Lucerne . The idea and the book come from Andréas Härry , the music from Jürg Gisler.

It tells the story of a woman from our day who travels in a wonderful dream to the origins of the Lucerne dragon stone, which was dropped by the dragons of Mount Pilatus in the 16th century. The real Lucerne dragon stone is a beige-brown ball made of fired clay of unknown origin, which is now in the Lucerne Nature Museum . His legend was recorded in a musical and processed in the form of a modern fairy tale.

Performances

In December 2002, 11 performances were staged. In December 2003, another 15 performances followed. In March 2007 production was resumed with 16 performances and a new staging at Le Théâtre Kriens-Lucerne . In the leading roles in all seasons: Irène Straub and Patric Ricklin .

With 22,500 spectators, Der Drachenstein is still the most successful musical production of Central Switzerland .
