The device is a device that automatically cuts meat from a kebab skewer . This kebab cutting robot is an invention of the Turkish entrepreneur and trained chef Duran Kabakyer, managing director of Alkadur RobotSystems GmbH in Aalen . According to his own statement, the development took three years.

functionality

The cutting robot glides up and down in front of the kebab on a vertical rail, suspended from a gallows from above. It cuts the meat fully automatically into thin slices using integrated optical sensors, without any human intervention. The robot is operated via a touchscreen and is available in several versions for kebab skewers of different sizes. In addition to the purely electric version, there are also versions in which the grill unit is gas-operated.

history

In 2010, the invention was presented for the first time at the contact fair Döner Industry (DÖGA) in Berlin under the name "Alkadur Döner Robots".

In 2012, Kabakyer took third place in the Schwäbische Zeitung start-up award .

Since 2014 the kebab robot has been marketed under the name “Der Gerät”.

By mid-2014, the kebab robot had been sold around 200 times in Germany and exported to 21 other countries.

Naming

In Stefan Raab's show TV total , an interview with Kabakyer from DÖGA was broadcast in which he said: "The device never gets tired, the device never falls asleep, the device is always in front of the boss in the shop and cuts the kebab meat free of sweat." Kabakyer used the grammatically incorrect expression “the device”, which became a cult after this interview was broadcast several times on TV , to advertise the kebab robot. The logo designed by TV total, a stylized kebab skewer based on the Apple logo, was also adopted.

On October 20, 2011, Duran Kabakyer himself was in the studio at Raab for an interview and demonstrated his robot.
