The Ring des Nibelungen and Ring II are computer games based on Richard Wagner 's opera cycle of the same name .
The Ring of the Nibelung
The game tells the stories of Alberich, Loge, Siegmund and Brünnhilde.
Ish, one of the last survivors of the great catastrophe that destroyed the world, lives like his fellow men under the despotic rule of the four as a cruelly oppressed slave. Erda, a goddess or maybe just an electronic good spirit, determines him to be the main actor in a re-performance of the old mankind saga of the Edda and the Nibelungenlied. The four of them really like to see such stage plays, panem et circenses, bread and games are supposed to keep the oppressed masses happy and after the destruction of their home planet, the surviving humanity does not have much more than their legends and memories. But Erda has more on her mind than the tyrant could wish for. With her help, Ish slips, and with it the player, one after the other into the roles of the main actors, is sometimes Alberich, the tyrannical dwarf king, sometimes Loge, the enslaved fire god, sometimes Siegmund, who dies in unhappy love for his sister, sometimes Brünhilde, who is condemned to sleep in the wall of fire by Wotan out of idealistic love for the people - only Siegfried, Siegmund's descendant, will free her from there. Through these experiences Ish grows spiritually beyond himself, his apotheosis initiated by Erda will finally make him the savior and messiah of humanity and overthrow the tyrants.

The character can be rotated 360 ° in the rendered (precalculated) backgrounds thanks to the CINvision rotation technology. The screen consists only of the picture of the scenery, over which you move the mouse pointer and trigger actions by clicking in the right places.
