The Pig Sack

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Der Schweinachtsmann is a children's book with a musical CD by Jörg Hilbert and Felix Janosa , the authors of the children's book series Ritter Rost .

This book was recorded as a radio play in 2000 with Fritz Stavenhagen as the narrator and sung by 6-cylinder .

Pig Sachs saw the light of the stage in Advent 2001 with Hacki Ginda as the Christmas pig, Jürgen Wink as the narrator and the 6-cylinders as singing Santa Clauses. In autumn 2002 6-cylinder produced their own stage version of the "Schweinachtsmann", played with roles, which they have had in their program ever since.

content

Shortly before Christmas Eve, Santa Claus injured himself cracking nuts and was unable to work for the rest of the year. The other Santa Clauses are faced with a problem because no one can take on the part of the fancy Santa Clause. So that means they need a replacement.

The angel refuses indignantly, but the pig that lives with Santa Claus Hektor-Telemann-Napoleon in the stable is ready to take over the job as a temporary Santa Claus. A reindeer is put to his side. The pig has to overcome a few difficulties, but in the end all Santa Claus colleagues, the reindeer, but also the children and parents visited agree: This pig has to be!

main characters

The Pig Sack

The pig that hides behind the pig slaughterhouse does everything a pig likes to do: sleep a lot and eat a lot. It lives in Santa Claus Hektor-Telemann-Napoleon's stable, but it willingly makes itself available when the Santa Clauses get into trouble. The pig particularly likes the chimneys:

Wonderfully dirty, I think this is
exactly the right job for me!
"

During the delivery of the presents, the pig is tempted to eat Christmas cookies and gingerbread. Nevertheless, the pig and the reindeer bring gifts to a few children somewhere in the world year after year.

The reindeer

The reindeer is cool, easy-going and, above all, has a lot of experience. That is also the reason why it is put to the side of the pig and gives him advice and assistance. So it has to give the pig a start a few times and push it into the chimney opening the first time.

Awards

In 2001, just one year after its publication, "Der Schweinachtsmann" received the Leopold Media Prize for good music for children. A prize awarded by the Association of German Music Schools with the support of the Family Ministry and the WDR from the hands of Family Minister Dr. Christine Bergmann is donated.

Press reviews

  • The cheerful story of Jörg Hilbert, with the music of Felix Janosa (both of whom are not least known as the creators of the "Ritter-Rost" musicals) lovingly parodies Christmas rituals, taking them to absurdity in bizarre pig-night constellations. Musical means are also used to skillfully crouch. The a cappella group 6-Cylinder exaggerates traditional songs of light candles and gingerbread hearts, tinkling bells and angel choirs, and adapts different musical templates and styles. (IfaK)
  • “Oh holy, oh holy, oh Christmas time”, the singing 6-cylinders rejoice, wail and introduce a musical Christmas story by Felix Janosa and Jörg Hilbert, which is absolutely crazy, also quite cheeky and just magical. (Die Zeit)
  • [An] acoustic treat! Everyone should have a little (of this) pig. (Neue Musikzeitung)
