Felix Janosa

Felix Janosa (* 1962 ) is a German composer, pianist, cabaret artist, producer and author. His best-known compositions are the songs on the music CDs for children's books about the rustling knight by Jörg Hilbert and Felix Janosa. On his 1989 released album poison pigeons he carries himself-translated songs of American singer-songwriter Tom Lehrer in German before.

Life

Janosa originally studied school music and composition at the Folkwang Hochschule , but never worked as a music teacher. Instead, he was active as a cabaret artist from 1985 to 1994, before he increasingly devoted himself to the production.

He was a lecturer for didactics and aesthetics of popular music at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , Folkwang University and the Cologne University of Music .

As a composer and arranger he worked a. a. for the Saarland Radio Orchestra ("Who is Afraid of Mister Werwolf?"), the WDR Symphony Orchestra ("Ritter Rost Suite"), the WDR Radio Choir ("Ha Zwei Oh"), the Bavarian Radio Orchestra (" Rusty Knight on a Treasure Hunt ") and the Big Band of the Deutsche Oper Berlin (" Rusty Knight and the Scrap King ").

Since 2011 he has been active again as a music cabaret artist with three solo programs: "In der Hitfabrik", "Poison Cabinet" and "A bit too radical - The evil songs of Tom Teacher". In “A bit too radical” he combines the songs of Tom Lehrer with a historical outline of 75 years of “German-American friendship”.
