Der Wahrschauer (also: Der Wahrschauer ; proper spelling : WAHRSCHAUER ) is one of the oldest independent magazines in Germany.

The magazine has been published since 1988. It sees itself as a magazine for counterculture and provides information about the alternative music scene . The Wahrschauer is the Berlin independent magazine with the highest circulation and a CD compilation.

The 130-page magazine appears as a special publication two to three times a year. The circulation is 14,000 (as of 2008).

content

The music spectrum includes all alternative styles from punk , ska , rock 'n' roll , crossover , hardcore punk , rockabilly , pop , metalcore to hip-hop , world music and singer-songwriting . Furthermore, in the early years (until around 1993) categories such as Gothic Rock , Dark Wave and EBM were part of the content.

The accompanying CD compilation is 80 minutes long. All bands that are represented with a track on the Wahrschauer compilation are presented in detail with interviews and information on the CD pages .

The magazine also takes up other topics such as politics, art, travel and literature.

activities

Since 1997, the Wahrschauer has hosted the Wahrschauer Gig Party every month . There selected bands from are Wahrschauer sampler presented live and lay Wahrschauer - DJs on.

Since 2003, the Wahrschauer has been presenting selected art and cultural projects.
