The special day was a television film series for preschool children that was produced in the DEFA studio for short films for television in the GDR .

history

The series takes up situations that are part of everyday life for preschool children, but are not everyday. These incidents are recreated in small, simple game actions, in which the younger viewers particularly enjoy the actors of the same age, because they want to identify with the film children, because what they do there in the film is extremely activating and is wonderful to watch. The length of around 15 minutes and the content of the articles, which appear around every four weeks, are manageable for the little ones and entertaining for the parents. This series helps little viewers to discover a lot of new things in their environment in a fun way. The special attraction of these small films is that the adults who are involved in the production of the films, as well as those of the participants, only adopt an observing attitude, because the actions always come from the children.

The first production in this series, for which a new group was founded at DEFA under the direction of Konrad Weiß , was called Ein Schlüssel für eine neue Haus and was on July 17, 1975 as part of the peek-a-boo cinema series in the first program of GDR television its premiere. The film accompanies Ingo, a little Rostock man, when he moves into a new apartment.

Broadcasts of this series can be proven in the television programs of the daily newspapers until 1985.
