Dervy Vilas

Dervy Vilas (born October 12, 1933 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan actor , dramaturge and theater director .

Vilas successfully completed his training at the Escuela de Arte Dramático des El Galpón in 1962 . As a result, he worked as an actor both on the stage of El Galpón and in various independent theater groups. From 1964 to 1969 he was also a member of the author seminar there. In 1968 he gave up acting in favor of theater directing. In the same year he and Omar Grasso were responsible for the production of Lorenzaccio in Montevideo, which was named the best adaptation of the year. In addition, since 1969 he has been a lecturer in performing arts at El Galpón as well as at the Teatro de la Gaviota and the Teatro Circular .
