Fangh created atmospheric landscapes as the seasons change. He mainly worked in oil, but also used other techniques such as watercolor. In addition to pictures from the Wachau , he also chose urban motifs such as pictures of Nuremberg. During the First World War, he created some paintings of the South Tyrolean front from 1916 with shelters and patrolling soldiers. It was in great demand around 1930 and almost forgotten at the end of the 20th century.
