Det lille Teater Flensborg ( German The small theater in Flensburg ) is a theater stage of the Danish minority in Flensburg . The theater, founded in 1966, is affiliated with the Danish youth association SdU .
Hjemmet venue
The venue is the listed building Hjemmet (Heimat) at Marienstraße No. 20. The house was built by a doctor in 1840 close to the former city wall. The Marientor, a tower castle of the Flensburg city fortifications, presumably stood on the hill before . Jens Jessen , editor-in-chief and publisher of Flensborg Avis , moved into his winter quarters here until 1906 . The castle courtyard was built right next door between 1909 and 1910 . After the referendum in Schleswig in 1920, the Hjemmet was the first seat of the Danish Duborg-Skolen , which at that time was still a secondary school, until 1923 .
After that, it was again open to youth and club work, while touring theaters appeared sporadically in the Borgerforeningen . In 1966 a group of committed amateur actors founded the theater association Det lille Teater Flensborg and moved to Hjemmet . In 1978 the theater rooms were redesigned and a new, larger stage could be put into operation. Another renovation took place in 2008 and 2009.
program
The offer includes spoken and musical theater . In addition to the spectacle that has since 1980 puppet theater Det lille Dukketeater ( The small puppet theater established) and has become an integral part of the theater company. A cabaret group was disbanded in 2006. In addition to the Danish amateur theater on Marienstraße, guest performances by larger Danish theaters take place several times a year in several locations in southern Schleswig .
