Detectorists is a British sitcom that first aired on BBC Four on October 2, 2014 . The screenwriter and director is Mackenzie Crook , who plays the lead role alongside Toby Jones . In total, the series consists of three seasons, each with six episodes, plus a Christmas special that was broadcast after the second season.

Set in the fictional small town in the northern Danebury Essex , the series is about the life, the love affairs and metal detector searches by Andy and Lance, both a member of the probe goers -Verein Danebury Metal Detecting Club (DMDC) are.

The series won a 2015 British Academy Television Award for Best Situation Comedy.
