Detlef Baer

Detlef Baer (born September 28, 1955 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( SPD ), a functionary of the German Trade Union Federation (DGB) and was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from 2009 to 2014 and from 2018 to 2019 .

Life and work

Baer completed vocational training as a telecommunications technician from 1973 to 1976. In this profession he then worked for the Deutsche Bundespost until 1985 , where he was also a works council . From 1986 he worked as an employee in the technical service of the Deutsche Bundespost before he became an employee of the Deutsche Postgewerkschaft in Berlin from 1987 to 1990 . From 1990 to 1992 he was organizational secretary at the DGB in Potsdam and was then the district chairman until 2001. Since 2001 he has been regional chairman of the DGB Mark Brandenburg.

He has been a member of the SPD since 1976. In the state elections in September 2009, he entered the Brandenburg state parliament via his party's state list . He was a member of the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs, Women and Family and labor market policy spokesman for his group. He is no longer a member of the state parliament elected in 2014. At the beginning of February 2018, he replaced Thomas Günther in the state parliament, who had resigned his mandate because he was elected mayor of Hennigsdorf. He was a member of the Petitions , Education, Youth and Sport , and Economy and Energy committees.
