Detlef Breiholz (born October 24, 1864 in Vaasbüttel in Schleswig-Holstein , † December 1, 1929 in Neumünster , buried in Aukrug ) was a German teacher and beekeeper . During his presidency in 1925, the new German Beekeeping Association was formed from the union of German beekeeping associations .

Life

Detlef Breiholz ​​ended his work as a teacher in 1925 in the position of rector in Neumünster.

In 1907 he founded the first German beekeeping school in Preetz , which later moved to Bad Segeberg because the old location had proven to be unfavorable. In 1928 the new building in Bad Segeberg began, the inauguration of the school did not take place until after the death of the founder on October 10, 1930.

From 1904 to 1929 he was editor of the Schleswig-Holstein bee newspaper founded in 1889. He was chairman of the Prussian Beekeeping Association, in 1922 he took over the management of the Association of German Beekeeping Associations, from which the German Beekeeping Association emerged in 1925. Under the strong influence of Detlef Breiholz ​​it was possible to convince the beekeeping / regional associations of the advantage of uniform packaging for honey.
