Detlef Bremer
Detlef Bremer (born May 20, 1957 in Malchow ; † May 7, 1988 in the Pötenitzer Wiek ) was a fatality on the inner-German border .
Life
Detlef Bremer was arrested in 1986 for trying to escape and was released in 1987 through an amnesty . On the evening of May 6, 1988, he stole a truck from his place of work, VEB Kohlenhandel Neubrandenburg, drove it to the border, parked right at the first fence, jumped over it from the vehicle roof and crossed the death strip, climbed over the last fence and got into the water . He drowned for unknown reasons and was found dead on May 18, 1988 on the west bank of the Trave .
