Detlef Brock

Detlef Brock (* 1954 in Köthen ) is a German doctor and university professor.

Life

Brock was born in Köthen in 1954. After graduating from high school, he studied human medicine in Leipzig . After his license to practice medicine he did his military service as a regimental doctor in the People's Army. In 1982 he began his specialist training in pediatric surgery at the University Hospital in Leipzig. After his specialist certification and doctorate in 1986, he worked in neonatal surgery with a focus on pediatric emergency and intensive medicine as well as traumatology. Since 1994 he has been providing humanitarian aid in international aid organizations for medical care for children in Africa, Latin America, Asia and in Arab countries. Detlef Brock is active in Hammer Forum eV Since 2000 he has been looking after a diocesan hospital in northern Brazil . As a sports physician, Brock has been a team doctor for the national team of fin swimmers and orientation divers since 2002. Brock has been professor for children and youth sports medicine at the SRH University of Health in Gera since April 2008 .

He was a founding member of the working group for children and youth sports medicine of the State Sports Association of Saxony .
