Detlef Haberland

Detlef Haberland (born February 25, 1953 in Teltow ) is a German Germanist and professor of modern German literature .

Haberland studied German, Spanish and Old American Studies as well as comparative religious studies at the universities in Bonn and Zurich . From the winter semester 1992/1993 to the winter semester 1999/2000 he worked as a lecturer, later as a professor at the University of Cologne . Haberland has been a research associate at the Federal Institute for Culture and History of Germans in Eastern Europe in Oldenburg since 2007 ; from 2010 to 2018 he was also an adjunct professor at the Carl von Ossietzky University . He is currently President of the Central European Association of Germanists (MGV).
