The relations between Germany and Fiji have existed for the 1973rd

Diplomatic relations

Diplomatic relations between the two states were established on August 1, 1973. Germany does not have an embassy in Fiji; the German Embassy in Wellington in New Zealand guarantees a representation. However, the German Honorary Consul David Vaughan Aidney is in Suva . Fiji itself does not have an embassy in Germany; the Fijian embassy in London is responsible here.

Economy and development

The exports to Fiji in 2014 amounted to 8.692 million euros, the imports amounted to 2.426 million euros.

In addition to micro- projects and contributions to the European Development Fund , development policy focuses on environmental protection projects . These include, in particular, programs to adapt to climate change , to protect biodiversity in marine and coastal areas and to protect Fijian forests.
