The German Society for Gender Education (DGG e.V.) is a German non-profit association that advocates the promotion of scientifically oriented gender education, in particular for scientifically based, school-based, mandatory information through sex education in all classes of all schools of all types of schools.

history

The association was founded on February 1, 1978 in Bonn to enable teachers in German schools to provide scientifically based sex education for the legally binding sex education. As a non-profit association , the company wants to contribute to research into scientifically based enlightenment at home and at school. The founding chairman was Rudi Maskus from Gießen (1920 -2012). This was followed by honorary chairmen Norbert Kluge from Landau and Karla Etschenberg from Cologne, who is also chairwoman of the working group for child and youth protection in North Rhine-Westphalia . Since 2001, Dipl.-Päd. (Univ.), Retired rector, Linus J. Dietz from Würzburg the society. The DGG is one of the interest groups in professional sex education with the largest number of members .

aims

According to the association's statutes, the DGG and its approximately 300 members pursue the goal of promoting holistic sex education education in research and teaching as well as in theory and practice in the sense of comprehensive health promotion including sexual health in the sense of the World Health Organization . For this reason, it is part of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) worldwide . Within the legal framework of sex education, the prevention of young girls, AIDS , drugs and abuse has priority. In addition, there is gender, gender and sex education appropriate to the times and ages.

The members of the board of directors of the DGG and the scientific advisory board come from universities and schools. Under her direction, the magazine DGG-Informations for Sex Education and Sex Education of the German Society for Sex Education e. V. Bonn under the ISSN 0935-2643 and from 2001 under ISSN  1865-4703 .
