The German Beach Soccer Association eV (DBSV) is the German association for the sport of beach soccer .

The association was founded in 2001 under the chairmanship of the national player Jörg Lieske. After a furious start with many well-known players such as Uwe Bein and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge , the sport of beach soccer faded a bit again. Nevertheless, it was possible to play the annual finals for the German championship , which has served as the highlight and conclusion of the Masters series since 2002. The DBSV has worked continuously and tirelessly on the structures and beach soccer is booming more and more in Germany. Many new organizers and teams were enthusiastic about the sport.

At the head of the board are: President -Sports- Sascha Schmidt and President - Finance - Adrian Harasimiuc.

The steady growth in teams is clearly visible. In 2008, over 500 teams took part in a total of 13 Masters tournaments, and 29 men's teams and, for the first time, 8 women's teams in the German championships in Wadgassen . In 2010 the number of Masters tournaments rose to 20 across Germany and another upward trend can be seen.

The DBSV pursues the following goals:

  • Promotion and establishment of beach soccer all over Germany
  • Promotion of youth work
  • Installation of beach soccer fields, leagues, events and tournaments
  • Acquisition of partners, sponsors and donors

A competitive situation has arisen in German beach soccer since 2013: Since then, the German Football Association has played its own championship and forms a national team that can take part in FIFA tournaments. The DBSV was interested in a cooperation, but the DFB demanded that the association should submit to it. As a result, the DBSV cannot take part in high-performance FIFA tournaments with its country selection, and two different championships are held.
