The German Entrepreneurship Prize for Schoolchildren is a category of the German Entrepreneurship Prize and is the largest business start-up simulation game in Germany for schoolchildren from grade 9 at general and vocational schools. The competition was launched in 1999 as a “StartUp workshop”. The aim is to encourage young people to be self-employed and to promote important interdisciplinary skills. The contents are adapted to the curricula of the federal states and can be optimally integrated into the lessons. 83,000 schoolchildren have taken part since the competition was founded.

procedure

In the game phase from January to May, the student teams develop a business plan including sales and marketing strategy based on nine tasks. With the website builder from cooperation partner Jimdo, you can also create a website according to your ideas. During the entire game phase, the young people are individually supported by a game supervisor from the Sparkasse, a teacher and a company sponsor from the business world.

All teams that achieve the minimum number of points will be judged by the jury after the end of the game phase in May. First, two independent jurors evaluate the business concepts of the students and award points. In addition, the teams receive personal feedback on their work. In a third and final jury round, the ten best teams are selected by a panel of experts.

Prices

The top 10 teams will be honored at the nationwide award ceremony in Hamburg ; the winning team also takes part in the awarding of the German Founder's Prize in Berlin .

Places one to five receive individual management and personality training in the four-day “Future Camp”. The sixth to tenth placed will be invited to a one-day workshop of the DGPS partners.

All participants receive a certificate of participation. In addition, the respective savings bank associations award regional prizes. The nomination is made by the participating student teams.
