The German Founder Award is an important award for outstanding entrepreneurs in Germany. It is awarded for exemplary performance in the development of innovative and viable business ideas and in setting up new companies. The aim of the German Entrepreneurship Prize is to promote a positive start-up climate in Germany and encourage people to be self-employed.
The German Founder's Prize is awarded annually in the categories of pupils, startups, climbers and life's work. This is used to honor entrepreneurial role models in different company phases - from school simulation to life's work. Exceptional entrepreneurial achievements can be recognized with a special prize.
The German Founder's Prize is awarded by the partners stern , Sparkasse , ZDF and Porsche . The partners have been committed to promoting entrepreneurship and a start-up culture since 1997; since 2002 under the name Deutscher Gründerpreis. The initiative is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and other well-known sponsors.
The categories
In the schoolchildren category , young people are honored who have developed the most convincing business concept for a fictitious company as part of an internet-based business start-up simulation game.
The German Entrepreneurship Award in the StartUp category is given to entrepreneurs whose companies are one to three years old. The award is given to start-ups that have achieved above-average success in the market.
The prize in the rising category is given to founders whose companies have achieved extraordinary growth and have the potential to become market leaders. The companies may not be more than four to nine years old.
In the Lifetime Achievement category , entrepreneurs are honored who have built up at least one sustainably successful company in Germany with an exemplary corporate culture. As an exemplary entrepreneur, the award winner takes on social responsibility beyond his entrepreneurial activities.
The special award can be given to entrepreneurs who have mastered special entrepreneurial challenges in an extraordinary way.
The award
The German Founder's Prize is awarded once a year in the ZDF capital city studio. The winners will receive their awards at a festive award ceremony, at which well-known personalities from politics and business are present. Over the years, the following people guided the program:
