Hans Georg Näder (born September 4, 1961 in Duderstadt ) is a German entrepreneur and managing partner of the Otto Bock group of companies .

Life

Hans Georg Näder was born as the only son of the family entrepreneurs Maria and Max Näder . He studied business administration in Nuremberg and in 1990 took over the management of the Otto Bock group of companies from his father. In the third generation, he successfully pushed the internationalization of the family company forward and made Otto Bock the world market leader in prosthetics. The Otto Bock Group is now represented in 51 countries and employs a total of around 7,300 people.

On January 31, 2005 he was appointed honorary professor at the Private University of Applied Sciences in Göttingen (PFH). Since October 2009 he has been visiting professor at Capital Medical University in Beijing. At the PFH in Göttingen he was the driving force behind the establishment of the new Orthobionics course. He is also the initiator and chairman of the board of trustees of the Südniedersachsenstiftung. Since 2011 he has been planning the development of the site of the former Bötzow brewery in Berlin. There he opened the newly built Science Center Medical Technology near Potsdamer Platz in 2009 as a place for the public exhibition Understand what moves us and as an event location for congresses and seminars.

In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Hans Georg Näder is involved in social, cultural, church and humanitarian areas. In doing so, he particularly supports his home region and, for example, enabled the creation of the shooting museum in Duderstadt. In 2006, for example, he supported the restoration of the Göttingen University Observatory. On December 15, 2011 he opened the HGN art gallery. In the private exhibition building on Karl-Wüstefeld-Weg in Duderstadt, Näder presented some works from his art collection to the public until the end of February 2012, including around 120 works by Helmut Newton.

In autumn 2009, Hans Georg Näder launched the Duderstadt 2020 Masterplan project , in which future-oriented ideas for sustainable urban development were developed and the book Duderstadt - A City in Motion was published. In 2011 he was given honorary citizenship for his commitment. Näder is the owner of the almost 46-meter-long maxi sailing yacht Pink Gin (type Baltic 152, built 2006), with which he won the New Zealand Millennium Cup in 2007 off the Mallorcan coast . In December 2017, it was confirmed to the media that his youngest sailing ship is operated via a so-called tax-saving “painting leasing” model. These models came under fire in connection with the “Paradise Papers”. He also owns an amphibious vehicle with which he crossed the English Channel on July 1st, 2008 in a world record time. In 2013, Näder acquired an 80% stake in the Finnish yacht builder Baltic Yachts. His yacht Pink Gin VI , which is considered to be the world's largest sailing yacht made of carbon, was also built at this shipyard . The cost of the yacht registered in Malta for tax reasons is estimated at 60 million euros.

Social Commitment

Hans Georg Näder is the chairman of the board of trustees of the company-independent Otto Bock Foundation founded by his father in 1987 to promote interdisciplinary training. Since 2002, the foundation has been involved in national and international aid projects and in particular helps seriously injured children from disaster areas with orthopedic care.

In 2010, together with Peter Maffay , he launched the project “ Schutzzimmer für Kinder Duderstadt” . In a building complex on Marktstrasse, living and therapy rooms for traumatized children have been created in cooperation with the Peter Maffay Foundation. The Tabalugahaus has been open to children since 2012. Disabilities or trauma should be treated here through community and nature experiences. In 2011, Hans Georg Näder was nominated by Peter Maffay for the German Engagement Prize from the Alliance for Charity.

In October 2015 it became known that Näder had left the CDU and joined the FDP . He is said to be at the side of federal party leader Christian Lindner as an economic policy advisor. In May 2017 he donated 100,000 euros to the FDP, and also in October 2017. In September 2017, he also donated 100,000 euros to the CDU.

Hans-Georg Näder is the initiator of the Eichsfeld Festival. The Eichsfeld Festival has taken place twice (2009 and 2012) in downtown Duderstadt for 3 days each.

Hans Georg Näder is editor of the book series Lebensraum Eichsfeld , in which the volumes Seeburger See , Burg Hanstein , Faces and, in the 20th year after the opening of the border , Growing Together - Growing Together have appeared.
