Roland Mack (born October 12, 1949 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German entrepreneur .

Life

Roland Mack grew up as the son of the entrepreneur Franz Mack in Waldkirch . From 1969 to 1974 he studied general mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe , which he left with a degree in engineering . When his father's business partner died in 1975, he joined the company and founded Europa-Park in Rust with his father . Since then he has been managing this theme park as a managing partner. He is also a partner in Mack Rides GmbH & Co KG in Waldkirch.

In 1978 Mack was a founding member of the Association of German Leisure Parks and Leisure Companies . He was a board member there until 1983, and vice-president from 1984 to 1992. He is also active in the world association IAAPA , where he was appointed to the board in 2008. From 2011 to 2012 he was the first German to be the President of the IAAPA.

In April 2003, Roland Mack was appointed “Council of Europe Special Envoy for Families”. He got involved in the social project We Help Africa for the Soccer World Cup 2010 in South Africa, in which he acted as the city sponsor for the city of Karlsruhe .

On the occasion of the Mechanical Engineering Day 2013, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology recognized Mack's achievements in the safe construction of rides with an honorary doctorate .

Roland Mack has been married since 1974 and has two sons ( Thomas Mack and Michael Mack) and a daughter. His younger brother is Jürgen Mack .
