Hall 14

Hall 14 is an art center on the grounds of the Leipzig cotton spinning mill . There it has a 20,000 square meter, five-story building. In 2002 the Federkiel Foundation (Berlin / Munich) took over the building, which was largely unused and in need of renovation, and operated it for the first few years.

Halle 14 has been operating as a registered, non-profit association since 2007 , and its regular members with voting rights include shareholders and managing directors of the cotton spinning management company. This means that there is no independence from investors. However, thanks to the funding used for the renovation, the building is designated as a public utility facility for at least 15 years .

In addition to studios, scholarship programs, an art library and exhibition space, Hall 14 houses a warehouse for the speculative Artist Pension Trust .
