Prix Bartholdi
The Prix Bartholdi was first awarded in 2001 in Colmar . It is named after the Colmar-born sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (1834–1904), whose best-known work is the Statue of Liberty in New York . The prize is awarded by the Promotion du Prix Bartholdi Association , which has been headed by a six-member Franco-German board since 2012, chaired by Klaus Riemenschneider from Wehr .

To promote the international orientation of business administration courses at universities in the Upper Rhine region
- The Prix Bartholdi wants to make clear to students the great need of Alsatian, Baden and Swiss business enterprises for young professionals with excellent foreign language and intercultural skills. Its aim is to contribute to the internationalization of studies and vocational training in the Upper Rhine region by awarding the best internship reports resulting from an internship abroad.

To promote the development of cross-border bi- and trinational courses in the Upper Rhine region
- Every year, a prize is awarded to project groups from universities in the Upper Rhine region that have made outstanding contributions to establishing joint, cross-border courses. The aim is to point out the importance of such courses for the Upper Rhine region and to encourage the creation of further joint courses in various disciplines.

Honoring personalities from business, politics or the university and cultural sectors
- Each year, the Prix Bartholdi awards an honorary prize to a personality who has made a special contribution to cross-border cooperation.
