Claus Hipp

Claus Hipp , actually Nikolaus Joseph Hipp , (born October 22, 1938 in Munich ) is a German entrepreneur and managing director of the food and baby food manufacturer Hipp . He has also been Honorary Consul for the Georgian Embassy in Germany since 2008 .

Life

Claus Hipp, the second of seven children, studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich after graduating from the Ludwigsgymnasium in Munich . In addition to his studies, he managed the family farm from 1960 until today. After his promotion to Doctor of Law stepped Claus Hipp in 1964 in his father's company Georg Hipp in Pfaffenhofen and took over in 1967 the management. Since 1968, after his father's death, he has been a personally liable partner of the HiPP companies . Under his leadership, the company developed into one of the leading manufacturers of baby food .

From 1998 to 2004 Claus Hipp was President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria. At the same time, he was President of the Bavarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and, since 2001, Vice President of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry . Hipp has been the patron of Münchner Tafel e. V.

Hipp is a practicing Catholic and advocates ecological action both professionally and privately . Since 2007 he has been a member of the nature alliance established by the then Federal Minister Sigmar Gabriel on the occasion of the CBD -COP9, which is committed to the preservation of biological diversity .

From 1960 to 1977, Hipp was active in equestrian sports and achieved victories in international jumping and military tournaments. Today he breeds competition horses.

In 2008 he was appointed Honorary Consul of Georgia for Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg by Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili . Since October 2008 he has headed the German Economic Association of Georgia . He was appointed professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at the State University in Tbilisi , Georgia.

Hipp is Honorary President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria , Honorary President of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce in Moscow.

On the initiative of Claus Hipp, in collaboration with the Swiss oboist Marie-Lise Schüpbach and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the chamber music festival erstKlassik am Sarnersee , which has been held annually in Obwalden since 2008 . Hipp is the patron of the event.

Claus Hipp lives in the German Ilmmünster ( Einöde-Ehrensberg ) and in the Swiss canton of Obwalden .

Artist

Hipp completed his training at the state-approved Heinrich Kropp painting school in Munich. In addition to his professional career, Claus Hipp has been working as a freelance artist under his birth and artist name Nikolaus Hipp since 1970 . He is a musician and a trained painter. He began taking oboe lessons at the age of fourteen and also plays the English horn . From 1959 to 1970 he completed an artistic training at the Munich Art School, where he was Heinrich Kropp's master class.

His abstract works have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions around the world. His pictures are represented in numerous collections and museums. Hipp has held a full professorship for non-representational painting at the State Art Academy ( Apolon Kutateladze Academy of Arts ) in Tbilisi , Georgia , since 2001 . He had a teaching position for non-representational art at the Bad Reichenhall Art Academy .
