Georg Hipp

Georg Hipp (born July 23, 1905 in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm ; † December 22, 1967 in Munich ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

Georg Hipp was the fourth child of eight children of the gingerbread maker and wax maker Joseph Hipp (* 1867 in Günzburg ; † 1926). The son learned his father's trade in his parents' business. Then he set out on a journey to South Tyrol . When he came back he sold his father's product "Hipp's rusk flour" from door to door in Munich when he was sixteen. After the death of Joseph Hipp, the son first took over his pastry shop in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm.

On July 1, 1932, Georg Hipp founded the company Nutrient Hipp , which he expanded into a leading manufacturer of baby food . The pioneer was the first in Germany to produce food for babies on an industrial scale, initially in cans and a short time later in jars.

Georg Hipp died at the age of 62 and left the business to his three sons Claus , Georg Johannes and Paulus. The city of Pfaffenhofen named a street after him and on March 24, 2006 the secondary school in Pfaffenhofen received his name.

Georg Hipp was trained as a painter by his father . At the age of 14 he exhibited his works in the Glaspalast in Munich .
