Barbara Hahlweg (* 29. November 1968 in Erlangen ) is a German journalist and television presenter of the ZDF telecast today .

Life and professional history

Barbara Hahlweg is the daughter of the former Lord Mayor of Erlangen Dietmar Hahlweg and graduated from the Emmy-Noether-Gymnasium in Erlangen in 1988 . This was followed by a year in the USA and finally the master’s degree in communication sciences with minor subjects economics and market and advertising psychology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Between 1996 and 1997 Hahlweg did an internship at ZDF. After that, from 1998 she became editor in the studio at heute and presented until 2003 a. a. noon today and the afternoon editions. She also worked as a reporter for hallo deutschland and as a moderator for TOP 7 and until 2003 for people today .

From 2003 to 2007, Hahlweg was co-moderator in heute-journal alongside Klaus-Peter Siegloch .

She is married to Peter Arens , who has been the head of ZDF's main editorial department for Culture and Science since January 1, 2006, and has three daughters.

Since 2014, Barbara Hahlweg has also been a member of the Advisory Board for the Heraeus Education Foundation and is the patron of the Ronald McDonald House in Erlangen. Since 2017 she has been an honorary member of the association Tangeni Shilongo Namibia e. V.
