German youth association for nature observation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Youth Association for Nature Observation (DJN) is a small youth association in Germany. The primary purpose of the association is to learn facts about biodiversity and ecology together. Through the strictly independent organization of adult associations, the association pursues an emancipatory approach from the youth environmental movement .

Through the autonomous self-organization of young people, extensive hierarchical freedom with maximum knowledge transfer should be achieved. In recent times, the DJN has increasingly seen itself as politically committed in the sense of anti-fascist, political youth education. While almost 1000 members are specified in the age range between 12 and 27 during weddings, the nature conservation organization, like almost all youth environmental associations , has recently lost members, mainly due to problems with young talent. The association sells professional identification literature in the field of natural history. Numerous projects by DJN project groups have won lavish prizes. The DJN is also a founding member of the youth campaign nature and environmental protection Lower Saxony and the international association Youth and Environment Europe .
