The German Youth Chamber Choir (djkc) is a national ensemble of choir singers.

ensemble

Since it was founded in 1999, choir singers, almost all music students at German and international music academies, between the ages of 16 and 27 have been given the opportunity in this ensemble to work on choral music on a professional level and at the same time to get to know a wide range of repertoire from all epochs of music history . The project-related working method takes place in six to eight working phases a year at different locations. The intensive work with the choir enables the development of your own choral sound, which is characterized by intonation purity, homogeneity and transparency.

The orchestra has been under the permanent direction of Florian Benfer since 2014 . Its work is complemented by various guest conductors (most recently in 2014 Frieder Bernius under Chor @ Berlin ) and guest lecturers, such as Erik son (stage presence and performance) or Folkert Uhde, of the ensemble in 2013 as part of the International Organ Week Nuremberg and chor.com with dramaturgically supported the production of " B minor mass - an interpretation". The ensemble has a lively concert activity at important festivals in Germany and abroad and has participated in numerous television, radio and CD productions. The German Youth Chamber Choir is also up-to-date in establishing management and financing structures and developing new, cross-genre performance formats. He regularly cooperates with professional ensembles and their choir conductors as well as composers, sheet music publishers, music archives and music academies.
